340B Discount Prescription Program
Am I eligible?
Yes! If you receive care at Betances Health Center and are Uninsured, Underinsured or have Child Health Plus A or Medicare Part D insurance.
What do I have to do?
Just bring your prescription to one of our pharmacies or ask your doctor to submit your prescription to the pharmacy. Stop by the pharmacy, pay the discounted amount, and leave with your medication. You can get refills there too.
What if I already have health insurance? (Private insurance, Family or Child Health Plus?
If your drug is not covered by your insurance or you have not yet met your deductible, you may save money through the 340B program.
Are there additional benefits of the 340B Program and Madison Drugs?
Every patient who participates in the 340B Program will receive free telephone re-fill reminders, free health education materials for people with diabetes and hypertension, and free delivery of medication within the 10002 zip code.

In 1992, Section 340B of the Public Health Service Act was enacted. Section 340B requires drug manufacturers to provide outpatient drugs to entities like Betances Health Center at a reduced price. In combination with our partnering pharmacies, Madison Drugs and Elm Drugs, these savings of about 40% on brand name drugs are passed on to Betances’ patients who are eligible.
This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.
